Double dippers lead Mac women to cage win


Jackie Nimec’s game-high 16 points and 10 rebounds helped lead the McMaster women’s basketball team over the host the Waterloo Warriors, 67-48, on Wednesday night (Jan. 26).

A trio of Marauders scored in double figures. In addition to Nimec’s 16, Alyska Lucan had 14 points and six rebounds, and Taylor Chiarot added 10 points in the win.

Erin Tilly led the Warriors with a 12 point, seven rebound performance. Saraya Hickey had 11 points and Sabrina Braithwraith added 10 points to round out the Waterloo top scorers.

The win moved McMaster to 4-10 on the season, and Waterloo dropped to 0-15 in conference play.

McMaster returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 29 when they host the Guelph Gryphons as part of the 2011 Marauder Weekend Festivities. Game time is noon at the Burridge Gym
