Hamilton Accessibility Sports Council is the first – and new – council representing the Hamilton-Wentworth area. The council is Hamilton’s advocacy group and voice for those with physical and cognitive disabilities ensuring equitable opportunities for participation in recreation and sport.
On Sunday, April 17 the group is holding the initial Ready, Willing and Able Event in the city. It will take place at Huntington Park Recreation Center, 87 Brentwood Drive. The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. and there is no admission or registration fee.
Participation is open to anyone in Hamilton, and those attending will learn and get the chance to try the sports of sledge hockey and bocce.
These two Paralympics’ sports are available in the Hamilton community and this event will give interested individuals an opportunity to experience them.
