MVC 15U girls looking forward to provincial championships

The Mountain Volleyball Club’s 15-Under girls were ranked in 11th place and finished seventh overall at the 15U Girls Bugarski Cup Premier Division tournament held at Hamilton’s St. Mary Secondary School recently.

The top 15U girls teams in the province competed for seeding for the upcoming Provincial Championships in April in Waterloo.

Finishing third in their pool against higher seeded teams in the province, MVC moved on to defeat the Mississauga Pakmen, 25-16, 25-21, in the pre-quarter finals. Moving on to the quarters, MVC fell to the eventual tournament champions, Eclipse, 25-16, 25-21. Georgetown Impact finished in fifth place by defeating MVC, 25-17, 25-12.

The team has moved up two divisions during the season and has qualified for Tier 1 and looks forward to competing against the top teams in the province at the Ontario Volleyball Association’s championships next month.

The MVC 15U team is coached by Siobhan Mondesire of Ancaster.
