MVC 14U girls come home with Bronze

Mountain Volleyball Club 14U Girls won the bronze medal at the 14U Tier 1 Division 2 Ontario Provincial Championships held in Waterloo recently.

In opening round robin play, MVC defeated the Niagara Rapids Red, 2-0, fell to the Halton Hurricanes Blue, 2-0, and defeated the Markham Stingers White, 2-0. On day 2 and re-seeded in the power pools, MVC won its pool by defeating the Brant Tornadoes, 2-1, the Orillia Suns, 2-0, and the Sudbury Northern Chill, 2-1.

In the Tier 1 quarter final, MVC defeated the Halton Hurricanes Black, 2-1, and fell to the eventual provincial champions, Etobicoke 381 Blue, 2-0, in the semi-finals.

MVC moved on to defeat the Markham Stingers Gold, 25-18, 25-22, to win the Bronze medal.

The MVC 14U team is coached by Meghan Boyle of Ancaster and Michael Hall of Hamilton.
