Mosquitoes too much for Phillies

The Major Mosquito Tier 2 Hamilton Cardinals opened the 2011 season at home with a hard fought 4-2 victory at Mahoney Park over a pesky Paris Phillies (0-2) team.

Mitchell Snow started on the mound and pitched 3 1/3 strong Innings in the InterCounty Baseball Association contest. Snow gave up one run, walked three and registered four strikeouts. Kyle Samson came into pitch in the fourth inning, giving up one run, three bases on balls while striking out two Phillies batters for the Win.

Jordan Simpson finished up the game with two walks and two strikeouts to earn the save.

Next action for the Redbirds is Sunday, May 15 at Mahoney against the Kitchener Panthers. First pitch is 6 p.m.
