Cardinals steal a win from the Panthers

The Minor Peewee Hamilton Cardinals won their second straight InterCounty Baseball Association game, defeating the Kitchener T2 Panthers, 10-2.

Cardinals’ starter Ayden Hannon ran his record to 2-0 on the season by pitching three innings of one-hit shutout ball. He struck out two and walked one. Noah Britt and Dawson McLaughlin each pitched two innings in relief, yielding one unearned run each.

Britt helped his cause in the fourth inning with his fielding by assisting on all three outs and then picking a runner off second to end the fifth inning.

The Panthers could manage only two hits over seven innings.

The Cardinals mustered 10 runs on eight hits, two by Josh Miller-Koren. Mitchell Novosad drove in two runs and the Cardinals baserunners stole nine bases with Jacob Underwood and Britt stealing two each.

Panthers’ pitcher Mooibroek went 3 1/3, giving up 6 runs, 3 earned, on 6 hits to take the loss. Richards and Haggerty had the only hits, with RBIs recorded by Stemerdink and Beaumont.
