Cubs tamed by Mosquitoes pitching

The Major Mosquito T1 Hamilton Cardinals’ pitching staff stymied the Cambridge Cubs hitters in Inter-County Baseball Association play on Thursday (June 2).

Starting pitcher Calvin Pietron pitched two, three-up-three-down innings. Reliever Josh Tee pitched a three-up three-down third inning, and kept the no-hitter going into the top of the fifth when the Cubs finally broke up the no-hitter scoring two runs off a single and a walk off reliever George Tsiflikiotis.

Cardinals scoring was led by Ian Jordan who went two-for-two with three runs-batted-in, Sam Coons, who also went two-for-two with two RBI, and Joel Wallace, who had a two-for-three night with two runs knocked in.

Tommy Thompson, Steven Lemay, Sean Pettener and Tsiflikiotis each contributed one RBI.

The win left Hamilton atop the league standings with a perfect 4-0 record.
