Giants swarmed by Hamilton Cardinals

Playing their third game in as many nights didn’t seem too much of a problem for the Hamilton Cardinals Major Mosquito Tier 1 team. The Cardinals travelled to beautiful Lions Park in Simcoe where they toppled the Giants, 19-9, in Inter-County Baseball Association play on Tuesday (June 7).

With the win, Hamilton improved its first-place record and remained undefeated after six games.

On Tuesday, everyone in the Cards batting order recorded a hit. Cameron McLeod led the hitting with a perfect night at the plate going four-for-four with four runs-batted-in. Right behind him was Ben Woodhouse (3-for-4 with three RBI), and Sam Coons (2-for-4 with three RBI).

Starting pitcher Joel Wallace got the win as the Cardinals opened up an 11-0 lead in the second inning. Wallace went two innings allowing only three hits with two strikeouts.

The Cardinals play again on Thursday (June 9) at McQueston Park on the Mountain. Game time against the Kitchener Panthers is 6 p.m.
