Minor Peewee ‘Cards drop game to Cubs


The Minor Peewee Cardinals dropped their third straight game, losing 6-3 to the Cambridge Cubs.

Ayden Hannon started and took the loss for the Cardinals, yielding 5 runs in two innings of work – only one of the runs was earned. Hannon struck out 3 in his two innings of work. David Candy came in and pitched 3 shutout innings in relief and Kole Bishop closed it out, giving up one unearned run in two innings of work.

Wheeler started for Cambridge and gave up 3 runs in 4 innings. Sunderland came on in relief and recorded the win while pitching 3 shutout innings.

Mitchell Novosad went 2 for 3 at the plate for the Cardinals, with Noah Britt chipping in on defence with two outfield assists. Sunderland helped his cause at the plate for the Cubs by going 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs and scoring a run.
