PeeWee Red Sox pluck Cardinals

The Minor Peewee Cardinals struggled defensively in a recent 13-3 loss to the Brantford Red Sox in InterCounty Baseball Association play.

Starting pitcher Ty Whalen took the loss, giving up 10 runs, one earned, over two innings of work. Ayden Hannon pitched two innings of relief and gave up three runs, all unearned.

The offense managed seven hits, including two doubles by Justin Jeffrey and one by Whalen. Runs-batted-in were recorded by Kole Bishop, Dawson McLaughlin and Jacob Underwood.

Brantford started Stacey pitched 4 2/3 strong innings giving up three runs, two earned on seven hits with six strikeouts and one walk. McDonough had a strong game at the plate going four-for-four with a double, an RBI and two runs scored.

The Red Sox counted 11 hits over their four innings.
