Cards pitchers shut down Mosquito Cubs

The Major Mosquito Tier 1 Hamilton Cardinals faced a determined Cambridge Cub team on way to a 6-2 win.

Hamilton immediately had to play catch-up after the Cubs went out in front in the first inning. Hamilton struggled at the plate as only four Cardinals recorded hits on the evening. Sean Pettener was 3/3, Joel Wallace was 2/2 with 2 RBIs, Cameron McLeod was 1/3 with 2 RBIs and Tommy Thompson was 1/3.

It was pitching and defense that would secure the win for this evening. Hamilton starter Calvin Pietron allowed 2 runs on 3 hits and 1 strikeout over 2 innings, giving way to relievers George Tsiflikiotis, Tommy Thompson and Sean Pettener who would go the distance – allowing only 3 hits, 1 walk and striking out 2.
