The Hamilton Thunderbirds will host United Steel Workers Local 1005 Night on Friday, July 8.
All Local 1005 members, who are locked out, and pensioners are invited to attend the game. Local 1005 has been embroiled in a labour dispute with U.S. Steel (formerly Stelco) since November 2010 when the company locked out the workers.
For Local 1005 night, the Kitchener Panthers will visit Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium for a 7:30 p.m.
Regular ticket prices will be in effect with the exception of children 12 years of age and younger who will be admitted to the game free of charge.
In attendance for the game will be Jake Lombardo, Chair of the Political Action Committee, USW Local 1005, who will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Last month members of the Thunderbirds organization visited the Local 1005 at the Lockout Gate to show their support and to give out more than 500 tickets for future games.
Tickets for all Hamilton Thunderbirds home games are available at the Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium box office on game day. For more information on Thunderbirds season tickets visit www.hamiltonthunderbirds.org.
