Mosquitos find their stingers again in 12-2 win

After losing their first Inter-County Baseball Association game this season, the Tier 1 Hamilton Cardinals Major Mosquitos were looking to bounce back with a break-out performance against the Cambridge Cubs.

But it took a shaky top of the first inning to revive the Cardinals. Hamilton gave up two runs in the top of the inning before settling down and allowing only two hits in the next four innings to mercy the Cubs in five innings, 12-2. The win improved the first-place Cards to 10-1.

Sean Pettener was four-for-four on the night (three singles and a triple) with two runs-batted-in. Jared Hill was two-for-four (both doubles) with three RBI. Cameron McLeod, Joel Wallace, Josh Tee and Sam Coons each had two hits with one RBI. George Tsiflikiots was three-for-four with a single and two doubles.

Starting pitcher Tee gave up two runs on five hits with one strikeout and one base on balls. Jared Hill pitched two scoreless innings of relief, not allowing a hit, striking out four and walking two. Sam Coons came on to close allowing just one hit, striking out one and walking one.
