Cardinal Major Bantam pitcher Justin O’Reilly went the distance, as he and the Card defence shut out the Stratford Indians, 4-0, in Inter-County Baseball Association play on Wednesday (June 29).

O’Reilly allowed no walks, struck out seven and limited the Indian bats to three hits. The Cards got an unearned run, a single RBI from Marlon Krupa and two RBI from Grant Preece.

“We were a step behind them (Cards) this game. They came to win,” said Indian head coach Nick Chiocchio. “I applaud their efforts.”

Card head coach Rich Minken said, “We had a good infield and outfield. Justin had a very efficient outing (low pitch count). Ty Porter (catcher) had an excellent game gunning down runners. Our players were more focused.”
