The Hamilton Cardinals sent an SOS to their PeeWee team but it wasn’t enough as the Minor Bantams dropped a 4-2 decision in Brantford.
The Cardinals played a solid Inter-County Baseball Association game but came up short. Justin Snow and Caleb Radley were called up from the Peewees. Snow had a run-batted-in and Radley made some outstanding defensive plays throughout the game at second base on Tuesday (July 5).
The first Cardinal’s run came in the fourth when Alex Michalak hit a line shot to deep left field for a double. After he stole third base, Noah Skirrow cashed him in with a hard grounder to short stop. Ken Coleman had the best hit of the night with a triple to centrefield. Unfortunately he was left stranded at third.
Brendan Watson pitched the first four innings with three strikeouts, one walk and one run on two hits. Skirrow came in for the final three innings and gave up three runs from two hits and five walks. He struck out three batters.
Hamilton’s record fell to 4-13 while the Red Sox improved to 7-6.
