Mosquito Cards maintain mastery over Guelph

The Hamilton Major Mosquito Tier 1 Cardinals went into Guelph on the eve of the Mississauga North Tournament having not lost to the Guelph Royals in Inter-County Baseball Association action since June 2009.

Hamilton immediately jumped out to a 2-0 lead. The Royals would battle back to tie it , however, the Cardinals offense put the game out of reach, opening up a 6-2 lead and cruising the remainder of the way for the 6-4 victory.

Calvin Pietron, George Tsiflikiotis, Ian Jordan and Joel Wallace were each one-for-three with one run-batted-in. Tommy Thompson also had an RBI and was one-for-two with a walk.

Ian Jordan pitched four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out two and walking two. Jared Hill pitched the last three innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, and striking out five.
