AJ Thompson making gridiron impressions

Hamilton-Wentworth Minor Football Association Panther AJ Thompson is being noticed north and south of the border.

Thompson, a defensive back and wide receiver for the Junior Varsity Panthers in the Ontario Football Conference was invited to TOP GUN at Football University (FBU), one of the United States most elite football training experience for top high school and youth athletes.

AJ’s football ability as a receiver at the 2011 FBU Mini-Camp in Toronto earned him an invitation to train with the nation’s best athletes at Top Gun. This will be the best collection of football talent assembled in one place, at one time, from across Canada and the US.

The three exciting days of training promises to be an unbelievable experience for AJ.

FBU Top Gun will take place on July 21-23 and will be held in the Williamsburg, VA area at Warhill Sports Complex and Warhill High School.

AJ was also selected by Team Ontario West for this year’s prestigious Canada Cup held in Alberta Canada, featuring the Nations best under-18 football players. He is suiting up as a DB / half back as well as playing special teams on the 45-man roster.

On top of this, AJ keeps a top grade point average and has even done a colour commentator position during the Panther games broadcast on Hamilton’s Cable 14.
