PeeWee Cards take charge from start to finish


Hamilton Cardinals Minor PeeWee team evened their record at 7-7 by defeating the Kitchener Panthers, 10-9.

Hamilton never trailed in the Inter-County Baseball Association game. Starting pitcher Justin Jeffrey went four innings yielding eight runs (five earned) and struck out eight.

Michael Ssemanda took over and pitched three strong innings, yielding one run and recording one strike out to take the win. Jeffrey helped himself at the plate, going four-for-five, including a double while driving in four runs and scoring twice.

David Candy went two-for-five scoring two runs and Ty Whalen went two-for-four with a run and an RBI.

Kitchener pitchers struggled with their control, recording six hit batters.
