The Tier 1 Major Mosquito team went into Thursday’s (July 14) contest holding a 10.5 game lead on the Cambridge Cubs in the Inter-County Baseball Association. The Hamilton Cardinals increased that margin by a game after handing the Cubs a 12-5 defeat.
Hamilton hitters had no trouble solving Cubs’ pitching as every Hamilton player reached the score sheet.
Ben Woodhouse led the Cards with a three runs-batted-in night going two-for-four at the plate, followed by the three-for-four performances of Joel Wallace and Steven Lemay with two RBI each.
The barrage didn’t end there as Tommy Thompson, Jared Hill, Ian Jordan, Josh Tee and the returning Jack Morin each knocked in one run. George Tsiflikiotis was one-for-three and Calvin Pietron was 1/4 on the night.
Pitchers Pietron, Wallace, and Lemay combined to hold the Cubs to eight hits while striking out eight and walking eight.
