Cubs prove more stubborn than Cards

The Major Mosquito T1 Cardinals struggled to pull away from a stubborn Cambridge Cubs team in recent Inter-County Baseball Association play.

The Cards, who found themselves behind 2-0 in the first inning, battled back to tie it in the second only to relinquish the lead in the bottom half of the inning 4-2.

Hamilton answered with four runs in the top of the fifth to take a 6-4 lead but would once again relinquish it to end in a 6-6 tie in the bottom of the seventh.

Steven Lemay went 1-for-3 with two RBI, Ben Woodhouse (2/3), George Tsiflikiotis (1/2) and Calvin Pietron (1/2) each cashed in one RBI. Starter Steven Lemay went four innings, surrendering four runs on four hits while fanning four and walking four.

Reliever Jared Hill pitched three innings giving up two runs on four hits and four strikeouts while walking a pair.
