The Hamilton Rookie Cardinals have won the 2011 “A” OBA Provincial Championship in Tecumseh, by defeating the Barrie Red Sox in the final. They won Friday night 11-5 over Tecumseh, and the first two on Saturday, 14-2 over Oakridge and 15-4 over Oshawa.
In the third game Saturday, Barrie jumped out to and 11-0 lead after two innings, the Cardinal players were exhausted but were able to find it in them to dig down and bring the score back to 13 to 10. So now, bottom of 6th inning, mother nature decided to bring us lightning. Game was suspended to Sunday morning where the Cardinals lost 13-12. An awesome comeback that fell just short.
