Victoria Moors of Cambridge and Sabrina Gill of Oakville finished 1-2 all around and added four more medals in the individual event finals to cap an impressive Canadian performance at the Combs-La-Ville gymnastics meet on the weekend (Nov. 11-13).
Moors, the 2011 Canadian junior champion, scored 55.560 to finish first all around in a field of 33 competitors from five countries. Gill, who moved up to the Canadian senior team this year, placed second with 54.650 points and Doriane Thobi of France was third at 53.850.
Moors, Gill and Stefanie Merkle of Petersburg, Ont., also combined to win gold in the team event.
In the event finals, Moors was the star of the two day competition, winning gold on both vault and floor and silver on uneven bars. She just missing another medal on beam and had to settle for fourth place.
Gill competed in three event finals and notched her best result on vault to win the silver medal.
In other Canadian results, Casey Carvalho of Mississauga placed 11th all around and Hélody Cyrenne of Montreal was 13th.
