Mountaineers score high with CCAA

Three Mohawk College basketball stars are among the best, statistically, in Canada, in latest figures released by the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association.

Hamilton’s Rachelle Abella of the Mohawk women’s basketball team has scored 111 points in five games for a 22.20 points per game average. Only Nakia Arthur of Oakvilleā€™s Sheridan Bruins is ahead of her, averaging 24.60 points per game.

On the men’s side, Mountaineers’ Aminu Bello of Hamilton, has scored 119 points in five games, which is an average of 23.80, putting him fourth in Canada.

Meanwhile, Bello’s teammate, Taylor Dowhaniuk, of Dundas, sits 10th in the country in rebounds, with 49 boards in five games.
