Victory continues to elude the HAC men’s team in Major League Water Polo play. The Hamilton team is winless in five starts after losing 12-9 to the Quebec Division Dollard Devils and 19-12 to the CAMO Road Runners, also of the Quebec division. Hamilton is in the Ontario division with two Toronto teams.
Against the Devils, Hamilton was down 4-0 after the first quarter and started the second half trailing 9-2. After three periods, HAC was behind 12-3 but a spirited rally in the final quarter saw Hamilton hold Dollard pointless while scoring six goals.
Pacing the Hamilton offence was Ted Bader with five goals. Jack Park hade a pair and contributing singles were Anthony Sunjic and Brett Luehmann.
There was no shortage of offence against the Road Runners who lead overall with a record of five wins, a draw and a loss.
Hamilton trailed throughout the contest, 5-2, 7-5, and 12-6 for the first three quarters. Hamilton’s offence came from Derek Sardo’s five goals, Luehmann’s four, Peter Goodrace’s two and Jared Webster’s single.
Hamilton plays the Toronto Golden Jets on Saturday.
