Mohawk splits basketball results

Mohawk Mountaineers were able to tame the Cougars but the Thunderbirds proved a little bit more elusive this weekend.

In Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday (Feb.4), the men’s basketball team dropped an 87-74 decision to the Algoma Thunderbirds in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association play. The previous evening, the visiting Mountaineers were 87-60 victors against the Sault College Cougars.

After weekend play the Mountaineers fell to 10-5 and sit fourth in the OCAA’s West Divisition.

Friday night was a seven wins in eight games for Mohawk. Aminu Bello had 13 points for Mohawk. Josh Sanderson and Alex Reis had 12 apiece and Andrew Cicuttini pulled down 12 rebounds for the Mountaineers.
