Ian Schultz had a trip to Montreal but is now back in Hamilton.
The Montreal Canadiens had recalled the forward for Monday’s (Feb. 13) National Hockey League game against Carolina but didn’t need his services. Schultz was reassigned to the American Hockey League’s Hamilton Bulldogs following the game.
Paiged by the Canadiens on Sunday (Feb. 12), Schultz, 22, played in 36 games for the Bulldogs this season, recording 13 points (3 goals, 10 assists), 83 penalty minutes, and a +3 plus/minus rating. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Calgary, Alberta native suited up for 45 games with the Bulldogs in 2010-2011, registering 4 points (3 goals, 1 assist) and 49 penalty minutes in the regular season, and 2 goals in 15 post-season games. This was his first recall to Montreal.
The Bulldogs’ next game will take place on Friday, Feb. 17t at 7:30 p.m. when they host the St. John’s IceCaps at Copps Coliseum.
