Plucking Hawks feathers brings Mac recognition

The McMaster Marauders have cracked the Canadian Interuniversity Sports Top 10 men’s basketball rankings at the No. 10 spot. Mac becomes the fourth team from Ontario University Athletics get into the rankings with just two regular season games to go. Mac is tied with Concordia for the spot.

With 15 wins against five losses this season, the Marauders have found themselves within reach of an OUA quarter-final playoff berth. The Marauders bettered their stock by beating the West Divisions high scoring Laurier Golden Hawks, 92-82, less than two weeks ago. Laurier is second in the division and holds down the No. 7 CIS ranking.
McMaster has had a number of contributors throughout the season including veterans Cam Michaud and Victor Raso. Rookies Adam Presutti, Aaron Redpath and Joe Rocca have also made a difference in some key match-ups and will be looked upon to help the Marauders deep into the playoffs.

With just two games left in the OUA regular season, the Marauders play the 8-12 Western Mustangs on the road on Wednesday (Feb. 15) and finish off the season at home with an important game against the Hawks, which could hold major playoff implications..

The other OUA teams on the CIS list are Carleton, No. 1, and Lakehead, No. 2. Lakehead leads the West Division with an 18-2 record.
