For the second straight year, Mohawk Mountaineers Chris Hong and Mohammed Nazimuddin have won the silver medal in men’s doubles at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association’s badminton championships.
After going 4-1 in preliminary play, the Mountaineer tandem defeated Humber’s Dustin Mitchell and Johnny Truong in semi-final play at Redeemer University College in Ancaster on Saturday (Feb. 18).
They then had to face the only team to beat them in this year’s championship – top seeded Dayvon Reid and Mark Wong. The George Brown pair defeated them again, taking Hong and Nazimuddin in two straight games for the gold medal.
