The Mohawk Mountaineers women’s team is tied for first play in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association curling championship.
Mohawk shares top spot with Humber, each rink with 2-0 records in Sault Ste. Marie after play on Friday (Feb. 17). The women, skipped by Sandy Toole, collected their second victory with a 9-6 win over host Sault College.
Mohawk will play Lindsay’s Fleming College, which 0-3, on Saturday
The Wesley Steen-skipped men’s rink fell to a 2-4 record after a pair of losses on Friday. Humber beat the Mountaineers 5-2 and Fanshawe turned back Mohawk, 8-2.
Mohawk starts the day against Fleming, which is 1-4. Fanshawe is unbeaten in five games.
