Blueliner Barbara gets all-star rating


York defenceman Kristen Barbara of Mount Hope has been selected to the Ontario University Athletics Second All-Star women’s hockey team.

Barbara, a rookie with the Lions this season, was tied for fourth among OUA defencemen with 15 points. The graduate of the Stoney Creek Junior Sabres of the Provincial Women’s Hockey League, was also named to the OUA All-Rookie team.

Barbara was tied with Queen’s Katie Duncan (Kitchener) who led all blueliners with six goals on the season.
