Hamilton FC’s graduate Aaron Boyd has signed a professional contract with Coleraine FC of the Irish Carling Premiership.
Team officials described Boyd as a key attacking player for Hamilton FC in 2011 and his industry and work ethic contributed to the team environment both on and off the field.
“I would like to thank everyone involved at Hamilton FC, Neil Brown, Coach Brett Mosen and my teammates. All have contributed in a massive way in developing me as a player on and off the field,” said Boyd on his move.
“The coaching and opportunities I was given have undoubtedly given me a huge boost in my career.”
Coleraine FC is on track for qualifying for Europe which would provide a great stage for Aaron to play. The team is currently in fourth place with a record of 14 wins, 10 draws and five losses in the 12-team league.
“I can’t thank Hamilton FC enough for giving me a professional environment to play and develop. I will be keeping close contact with the club and I would like to wish all involved at the club the very best of luck for the upcoming season. This past summer training and playing with Hamilton FC in the PDL league allowed me to focus and continue to work hard in a professional environment which fostered growth for me as well as the team,” said Boyd.
Hamilton FC competes in the Premier Development League in the Great Lakes Division of the Central Conference. Tryouts for the team begin on March 24.
