Racquetball gives Mike the Green light

Hamilton’s Mike Green has been chosen by Racquetball Canada for its Travel Team that will be attending the Pan-American Championships in Temuco, Chile, from March 31 to April 7.

Green is the only Ontario player on the eight-member Canadian team. He is one of five returning players and has won numerous national and international championships.

The players were chosen from results at three events held by Racquetball Canada during the past year. Joining Green on the men’s team are Vincent Gagnon (Montreal,
Tim Landeryou (Saskatoon), and Nathaniel Husulak (Saskatoon). On the women’s team are Jennifer Saunders (Winnipeg), Frédérique Lambert (Montreal), Christine Richardson (Regina), and Michéle Morissette (Baie-Comeau, QC).

The coaching staff consists of Sue Swaine (Etobicoke) as head coach and Michel Gagnon (Montreal) as assistant coach.

This is the first time Husulak, Richardson and Morissette have travelled with the National Team, the first time as head coach of the National Team for Swaine and the first time Della Rosa has been affiliated with the Team.

The Team will depart Canada on March 28, with competition commencing on March 31.
