Carson, Anderson give Mac shining efforts

Winnipeg – Fourth-year Lindsay Carson won McMaster a gold medal in the women’s 3000m run at the Canadian Interuniversity Sports track championships at the University of Manitoba on Friday (March 9).

Her time of 9:34.37 topped the 12-runner field for the spot on the podium. Teammate Victoria Coates took fourth with a time of 9:46.14 and veteran Sarah Haliburton finished ninth at 10:05. 62.

Katie Anderson was the first Marauder to take home a medal at the meet. Earlier on Friday, she finished second in the 1000m, just 0.02 seconds behind Ottawa’s Jennifer Perrault for her first-ever CIS medal. She ran it in 2.49.00.

The men’s 3000m saw Graham Bowes of McMaster finish seventh with a time of 8:22.93
