10 returnees highlight Cardinals signings

Twelve players have signed contracts with the Hamilton Cardinals for the 2012 Intercounty Baseball League season, says general manager Larry Wood.

Re-signing with the club are infielders Jon Saporsantos and John Solazzo, outfielders Warren Bradley and Matt McGraw, pitchers Matt Betts, Nino Fasulo, Mike Fortuna, Matt Martinow and Brett van Pelt. Also re-signed is 2011 IBL First Team All-Star Dan Jagdeo, who is the team’s designated hitter. Last season Jagdeo led Hamilton in hits, doubles, homeruns (three-way tie), walks, and runs batted in.

In addition to the 10 returnees, the Cardinals signed two new players. Joining the team for the 2012 season are pitcher Tomas Rincon and outfielder Nathan Smith.

The Cardinals will travel to London on Sunday, April 29 when they will take on the Majors in an exhibition double header starting at 1 p.m.
