Fourth place sends Mohawk curlers home empty handed

The Mohawk Mountaineers turned in a good performance but did not make the playoffs in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Curling Invitational National Championship at the Peterborough Curling Club on the weekend.

The Sandy Toole-skipped rink finished round robin play tied for fourth place with Humber, each with 4-3 records, a game behind Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and Grande Prairie Regional College, who were both, 5-2. Franshawe (6-1), led the round robin.

Famshawe went on to win the gold medal. GPRC took silver and NAIT the bronze.

Other members of Mohawk’s team were vice Jennifer Montgomery, second Christine Moore and lead Sarah McFarlane. The rink was coached by Betty Wackley and Matt Kimber.
