Burlington’s NEXXICE competing for world titles


Canada will send two senior synchronized skating teams to compete at the 2012 ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships from April 13-14, 2012 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The event will host 21 of the best teams in the world.

NEXXICE and Les Suprêmes qualified for the event by placing first and second, respectively at the 2012 Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships in the senior category.

NEXXICE placed fifth at the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships in 2011 and 2010, and won the event in 2009. They represent the Burlington and Kitchener-Waterloo Skating Clubs and are coached by Shelley Simonton Barnett and Anne Schelter.

Les Suprêmes placed sixth at this event in each of their past three appearances in 2011, 2008, and 2007. Their best placement was in 2003 when they won the bronze medal. They represent CPA Saint-Léonard and are coached by Marilyn Langlois, assisted by Pascal Denis and Amélie Brochu.
