Cards’ Chong is perfect, Justin Snow-balls A’s

Brandon Chong pitched a perfect game to start the season.

Brandon Chong couldn’t have started the new baseball season any better.

On opening night for the Hamilton Cardinals at their new diamond at Heritage Green Park, Chong threw a masterful perfect game, in leading his team to a 10-0 win over the Niagara Falls Giants in Central Ontario Baseball Association Bantam AAA play on Tuesday (May 1).

Chong tossed just 74 pitches over the seven inning contest. After five innings Chong had thrown 54 pitches to catcher Mitchell Rossit without surrendering a walk or a hit, while his teammates had built a 3-0 lead.

In other COBA play, Justin Snow threw a complete game. 9-1 win over the A’s for the Minor Bantam 2 Cardinals on Wednesday (May 2) in Oakville.

Snow struckout seven A’s over the six innings, highlighted by a four-pitch fifth.
