Minor Peewee AAA Cards lose pitching duel, AA remain perfect

Both Hamilton Cardinals Minor Peewee teams played on Wednesday (May 16) night, with one remaining perfect.

At Mohawk Sports Park, the Hamilton Cardinal AAA Minor Peewee team suffered it first loss of the Central Ontario Baseball Association season, losing 4-3 to the Oakville A’s. They’re are now 3-1 to start the season.

This game was a pitching duel with 22 strikeouts between the two teams.

Cards’ starting pitcher Steven Lemay pitched three innings, allowing three runs on two hits, while walking three and striking out six. Sean Pettener pitched the final four innings, allowing one hit, one walk, and striking out a trio.

Ben Woodhouse led the Cards at the plate going one-for-three with one RBI and scoring once. Ryan Magdic was also one-for-three with one RBI. Ian Jordan went 1/1 with a walk, while Jared Hill and Sean Pettener were each one-for-two.

The season continues at the Tom Chater Park in Mississauga on Wednesdasy, May 23 when the Cardinals visit the MSBA Twins.

Minor Peewee AA Cards Remain Perfect

Meanwhile, the Minor Peewee AA Hamilton Cardinals defeated the Waterdown Wolves 13-6 to improve their perfect record to 4-0.

Andrew Johnson started on the mound and got the win. In his four innings, he finished with five strikeouts. Laurence Bistoyong and Mitchell Snow came in relief and finished off the game for the Cardinals.

At the plate, Jacob Gajic lead the way going two for three with 2 RBIs.

The Minor PeeWee AA team plays next on Victoria Day in Brampton vs the Braves.
