Oakville resident Matthew Sims fired a one-under 71 on Wednesday (May 23) to finish third in the Ontario Men’s Champion of Champions tournament at Beach Grove Golf and Country Club in Windsor.
Woodstock resident Drew Symons fired a six-under 66 to earn the Champion of Champions title in the field of men’s club champions from across the province by three strokes. Sims, who plays out of the Mississauga Golf and Country Club, was tied with Bayview Golf and Country Club member Patrick Forbes of Toronto.

Beverly G&CC member Ryan Delisie of Hamilton was 18th with a four-over 76 and Greg Buckley of Oakville and the Wyldewood G&CC shot an eight-over 80 for the 30th spot. Burlington’s David Wodar of the Glen Abbey GC placed 50th with a 15-over 87.
The Ontario Men’s Champion of Champions event is contested annually. This was its 58th time and notable former champions include Ontario Golf Hall of Fame members Warren Sye, Stu Hamilton, and Gerry Kesselring, as well as Big Break Indian Wells champion David Byrne.
