Major PeeWee Cards lose fourth straight

The Hamilton Cardinals Major PeeWees lost to the Oakville A’s, 10-4, on Tuesday night (May 29).

Cards starter Kole Bishop took the loss, pitching three innings, giving up three runs – 2 earned – on five hits and two walks in the Central Ontario Baseball Association game. Reliever Matt Porkolab gave up seven runs – six earned – on seven hits and a walk. Tyler Whalen pitched the final inning and surrendered one hit while striking out two.

The Cards tallied eight hits – six of them doubles by Nolan Gallo, Chris Pendlebury, Michael Ssemanda, Noah Britt, Matt Porkolab and Dawson McLaughlin.

McLaughlin, Pendlebury, Britt and Porkolab recorded the RBIs. Britt was the lone Cardinal to have two hits in the game.

A’s starter Jake Gomes took the win, pitching three strong innings, striking out four batters, including three in the first inning. Sam Lima powered the A’s offence going 3-for-3, with a pair of doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored. Reliever Wyatt Darling also struck out four batters and contributed at the plate going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

The Cards go looking for their first win after four losses on Thursday (May 31) at Mahoney Park when Georgetown visits. Game time at the East End diamond on Barton Street is 7 p.m.
