Final minute goal subdues the Rage

A late tying goal by forward Mark Reilly brought Hamilton FC within minutes of a point and their second draw of the season, but a London goal in the dying minutes of the game brought Forest City the 3-2 victory.

FC London took an early lead after corner kick was knocked in by London defender Chris Dillon at the 16′ mark. London would double their lead just minutes later as Bryan Da Cruz sent a pass to Jordan Ayris. Ayris played the ball passed Hamilton keeper Conor Hurley at the 26′ mark.

Hamilton got on the board in the 35′ mark with a fantastic goal by Will Grocott, assisted by Adam Bond.

Hamilton had London on their heels in the second half forcing the Forest City to the defensive. At the 80′ mark Hamilton FC tied the game. Mark Reilly tapped in the tying goal for Hamilton after a cross was headed square in front of the net. Garret McConville and Adam Camillo took assists on the goal.

It was looking like Hamilton would come away with a single point on the night until the 89th minute. A long lead pass from London created a two on one for Forest City. With one lone defender down field for Hamilton, Lucas Almeida sent a pass to Jordan Ayris who sent the ball over Hurley’s head and into the net. The goal was Ayris’ second of the game.

Despite the three minutes of added time at the end of the ninety minutes and a few good opportunities, Hamilton couldn’t come back again.

With the loss Hamilton drops to 1-2-1 on the season with four points. London continues their winning streak and are 3-0-0 this season.

Next Hamilton will travel to the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Field to take on the Chicago Fire. The game takes place Friday June 1st at 8pm. HFC returns to Ron Joyce Stadium in Hamilton on Monday June 11th at 8pm when the Rage will host the Toronto Lynx.
