Panthers leave Twins mauled


In Kitchener, the host Panthers dominated the Burlington Twins for most of the afternoon, dropping the visitors 7-2 at Jack Couch Park in an Intercounty Baseball League tilt.

Starter David Husco was the winner for the Panthers (7-5), giving up just two hits with three walks and three strikeouts over six impressive scoreless innings.

Jeff Pietraszko homered and finished with four RBI on the afternoon in the win. Iggy Villalobos singled and doubled with a run scored and an RBI. Mat Taube had a pair of hits with a run scored while Mike Winter had two hits and an RBI. Mitch Delaney and Brian Burton each singled in the win, with Burton adding a run scored.

The Panthers had 11 hits in the game.

Matthew St. Kitts suffered the loss, allowing five hits and three earned runs with two walks and seven strikeouts over the first six innings.

Branson Joseph singled and drove in a pair of runs while Ryan Asis doubled in the loss for the Twins (4-8). Peter Bako singled while Ian Choy singled and added a run scored.
