A single run in the third inning would prove to be the winning score as the Hamilton Cardinals Minor Peewees shutout the Brampton Royals, 8-0.
Tuesday’s (June 12) win improved the Cards Central Ontario Baseball Association record to seven wins against one loss.
Hamilton also scored four runs in the sixth on a two-run error with RBI singles by Sean Pettener and Connor Goodes.
Ryan Magdic racked up two RBIs on a single in the 6th inning with other runs coming in the fourth and seventh frames. It was Magdic’s sacrifice fly in the third which scored Steven Lemay with the winning run.
Starter Jared Hill kept the Royals in check, holding them hitless over three innings. He walked none and struck out two.
