Twins put Fat Cat hitters on a diet

The Burlington Twins held the Ottawa Fat Cats to just one hit en route to their second straight victory, a 5-0 win on Saturday.

In Barrie on Sunday, the Twins and Barrie Baycats managed to get three innings in the books, before the Intercounty Baseball League game was called due to rain. The game was scoreless and will be rescheduled for a later date.

Matthew St. Kitts was the winner for the Twins (6-9) Saturday, allowing only a double to Jason Coker in the sixth inning. He walked two and struck out seven in the win. Jeff Davis earned the save, pitching two hitless and scoreless innings for Burlington.

Peter Bako and Branson Joseph led the Twins with a pair of hits and a pair of RBI each, while Ryan Asis singled and drove in a run. Greg Densem chipped in with the other Burlington hit.

Starter Eric Boisvert suffered the loss for the Fat Cats, allowing five hits and four earned runs with five walks and six strikeouts over seven innings pitched.
