Pee Wee Cards unable to stop A’s rally

Six runs in the final two innings pushed the Oakville A’s to a 9-08 come-from-behind win over the Minor Pee Wee 1 Hamilton Cardinals on Wednesday (June 20).

A walk off 7th inning single gave the home A’s the Central Ontario Baseball Association contest.

The Hamilton Cardinals had a 8-3 lead in the 6th inning when Oakville mounted its charge, scoring four runs in the sixth and two in the seventh to steal the victory.

For the Cards, Tommy Thompson went 2-for-3 with two RBI, Ian Jordan was 2-for-3 with one RBI and Sean Pettener was 1-for-3 with a pair of ribbies.

Starting pitcher Ryan Magdic went five innings, giving up three runs (1 earned) on five hits while walking three and striking out one.

Reliever Sean Pettener suffered the loss giving up six runs (3 earned ) on four hits while walking two.

The Cards’ record is now 8-3. Burlington visits Mohawk Sports Park 3 on Wednesday (June 27) for a 6.30 p.m. game
