Twins trumped by Royals rally

The host Guelph Royals scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally for an 8-4 win over the Burlington Twins at Hastings Stadium in a senior Intercounty Baseball League on Tuesday (June 26).

Bryan Boudreau earned the win, pitching the final 1 2/3 innings and striking out two.

Frankie Hare homered for the Royals (11-12), and added a pair of singles, two runs scored and three RBI. Tyler Wheeler also homered and finished with two RBI.

Chris Robinson had a single and double with an RBI while Sean Reilly doubled and scored a run. Josh Garton singled, scored, and drove in a run, and Jeremy Ware, Nate Grant and Mark Allen singled and scored to round out the Guelph offense.

Zack Fernandez pitched the eighth inning and suffered the loss for the Twins (6-14), allowing four earned runs on four hits, issuing two walks over one inning.

Darryl Pui singled twice and doubled, registering two RBI and one run scored, while Jeff Kosta singled twice and scored twice. Ian Choy singled and drove in a run, and Zach Elbirt singled and scored a run. Phil Steer had a hit, and Adam Cholewka had an RBI in the loss.
