Cardinals prevail in Mosquito slugfest

The Major Mosquito AAA Hamilton Cardinals outlast the Mississauga Twins in a high-scoring Central Ontario Baseball Association affair, 13-9.

The bats were busy at Mohawk Sports Park on Tuesday (June 26) and when the dust cleared the Hamilton Cardinals had their fourth win of the season. The teams combined for 21 hits, including eight extra base hits.

Hamilton scored eight runs in the first inning to build an early lead.

Ryan Stepien went a perfect 3-for-3 at the dish for the Cardinals. He tripled in the second inning and singled in the first and fourth innings.

Six Cardinals hitters combined for 12 hits and 10 RBI.
