Oakville starts fast, doesn’t look back

Despite a big day at the dish from Seth Cabezas, who finished 2-for-3, the Hamilton Cardinals Major Mosquito1 team lost, 10-3, to Oakville A’s at McQuesten Park on Monday (July 16).

Oakville’s David Dillman, Ethan Paulos, Jacob Pokocky and Griffin Conroy combined for nine hits and seven RBI.

The A’s stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring two runs on a groundout by Conroy and an RBI single by Pokocky.

Oakville added two more runs in the top of the third. Pokocky started the inning with a triple, scoring Paulos. That was followed up by Dillman’s triple, bringing home Pokocky.

Two runs in the bottom of the fifth helped the Hamilton Cardinals close the deficit to 7-2. A steal of home by Jack Iannuzzi and an RBI single by Michael Langdon set off the Hamilton Cardinals rally. But, Dillman got Walker McKelvey to strike out to end the threat.
