Cards best Majors, clawed by Tigers

After scoring a 2-1 decision against the Mississauga Majors on Tuesday (July 17) at Mohawk Sports Park, the Hamilton Cardinals Major Mosquito1 squad fell 14-3 on the road, 48 hours later, to the Mississauga Tigers.

The results left the Cards with a 6-9 record in the Central Ontario Baseball Association.

On Thursday, Ryan Stepien was 2-for-2 with a run scored while Alex Mitton was 1-for-2 with an RBI and scored twice. Carter McKnight went 2-for-2 and Michael Langdon and Walker McKelvey had one RBI each.

On Tuesday, the Cards scored their two runs in the fourth inning on a ground out by Alex Mitton and an RBI single by Ryan Stepien.
The Majors scored their run in the fifth on an RBI single by Brett Currie.

Seth Coulter held Mississauga hitless and runless over four innings while walking one and striking out two.
