Twins’ Noack knocked off the mound after 10 innings


The London Majors won both ends of a two-city doubleheader on Saturday, moving into second place in the Intercounty Baseball League standings.

London (20-14) started the day with a 10-6 win over the Twins in Burlington then followed that up with a 15-5 romp over the Royals in Guelph to take over second place as the IBL regular season winds closer to a close.

In Burlington, the Majors had to work overtime, scoring four runs in the top of the 11th inning to rally past the Twins.

Cleveland Brownlee paced the Majors attack with two hits, two runs scored and two RBI while Byron Reichstein had three hits and scored twice. Tyler Graham had two hits, two runs scored and two RBI while Alan Cattrysse drove in a pair of runs. Paul LaMantia and Chris Stewart both added two RBI for the winners.

Reliever Jason Schneider was outstanding, tossing six shutout innings. He allowed two hits with three strikeouts and two walks to get the win.

Ryan Noack was the hard luck loser, despite pitching 10 innings. He gave up just four earned runs on 11 hits with five strikeouts and five walks.

Peter Bako had three hits and drove in a run for the Twins while Darryl Pui had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored. Zach Elbirt drove in a pair of runs and Adam Cholewka had two hits and a run scored for the Twins, who have lost four straight.
